Recently, the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) has released two international standards for refrigeration compressors led by China: Performance Evaluation of Positive Displacement Refrigeration Compressors and Performance Evaluation of Centrifugal Refrigeration Compressors. These standards fill the gap in international standards for this field, marking the entry of the global refrigeration compressor industry into a new stage of standardization and regulation.
According to a report by the International Energy Agency (IEA), refrigeration equipment accounts for up to 17% of global electricity consumption, indicating significant energy-saving potential. The two standards cover multiple key dimensions, including rated evaluation operating conditions, performance operation requirements, rated performance energy efficiency evaluation, tolerance requirements, operational reliability, and published data requirements for refrigeration compressors. They apply to compressors used in various products such as air conditioners, refrigerators, heat pump water heaters, dehumidifiers, and centrifugal chillers for data centers. Their release aligns with the global trend of green and sustainable development, providing an "international solution" for the global refrigeration compressor industry to improve energy efficiency and achieve green, low-carbon transformation.
